Dr. Mohammad Zarei is a distinguished ophthalmologist and specialist in retinal and vitreous diseases. He earned his degree in General Medicine from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2006. Following this, he pursued a specialization in ophthalmology at Farabi Ophthalmology Hospital, also affiliated with Tehran University of Medical Sciences, where he completed his training in 2010. Dr. Zarei further advanced his expertise with a fellowship in retina and laser diseases, which he completed in 2013 at the same institution.
Currently, Dr. Zarei serves as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Farabi Hospital, where he plays a pivotal role in training the next generation of ophthalmologists. His contributions extend beyond teaching; he is also the head of the Uveitis Clinic, specializing in inflammatory eye diseases, and oversees the Retina and Laser Imaging Unit at Farabi Hospital. Dr. Zarei’s academic excellence is reflected in his notable achievements. He was awarded a gold medal at the National Olympiad in 1999 and ranked first in the national exams for basic medical sciences in 2018, the medical pre-internship exam in 2004, and the ophthalmology board exam in 2010.
