Shohada-e Tajrish Hospital Complex is a prominent medical facility located in the north of Tehran, within the first region, and is affiliated with Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. It is renowned for providing critical services to trauma patients and medical emergencies in Tehran.
History and Development:
The hospital initially began its operations as a clinic and vaccination center. The official establishment of the hospital started with the construction of a 3-story building in 1961. In 1968, additional clinics and doctor pavilions were inaugurated, followed by the opening of an 8-story main ward building in 1969. To accommodate further expansion, residential buildings adjacent to Darband and Hamid Streets were acquired in 1971 and 1972.
The pathology building, established in 1974-1975, also served as a Practical Nursing College. The construction of the oncology and radiotherapy building commenced in 1992, with significant contributions from the supreme leader of Iran, and was inaugurated in 1997 with support from the then-president.
Facilities and Capacity:
Shohada-e Tajrish Hospital spans a total area of 7 hectares, with an infrastructure covering approximately 65,000 square meters. The hospital complex has grown significantly over the years to accommodate the increasing demand for medical services.
Recent Developments:
In 2011, the macro construction project of Ghadir Hospital was initiated as part of the Shohada-e Tajrish Hospital development plan. The project, covering an area of 6,000 square meters, progressed with the support of health benefactors and was handed over to Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters in 2015 for completion. Under the thirteenth public government and with the emphasis of Ayatollah Raisi, the project was expedited and completed at a cost exceeding 14,000 billion Tomans.
Ghadir Modern and Equipped Macro Hospital was inaugurated and began operations in 2023, coinciding with the Imamate and governorship and Ghadir Khom Eid celebrations, in the presence of the President.
