Graston Tool Treatment

Graston Tool Treatment, also known as Graston Technique, is a form of manual therapy that uses specially designed stainless steel instruments to help mobilize and break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique is primarily used to treat soft tissue injuries such as muscle strains, ligament sprains, and tendinopathies. By applying controlled pressure with these tools, therapists can effectively target the affected areas, allowing for greater precision in identifying and treating adhesions or areas of chronic inflammation.

The treatment works by stimulating the body’s inflammatory response, which promotes increased blood flow to the affected area and accelerates the healing process. The Graston tools are designed to glide over the skin, providing feedback to the therapist through vibrations that help identify areas of tissue tension and restriction. Common conditions treated with the Graston Technique include tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, and scar tissue from surgery or injury.

Patients typically experience immediate improvement in mobility and pain reduction, although several sessions may be needed for more chronic conditions. The Graston Technique is often combined with other therapies such as stretching, strengthening exercises, and manual therapy to enhance the recovery process and promote long-term healing. This non-invasive treatment has gained popularity for its effectiveness in treating both acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.
