Hemangiomas

Hemangiomas are benign tumors composed of blood vessels that can occur in various parts of the body, including the skin, liver, and internal organs. In infants, hemangiomas are common and often appear as red or purple birthmarks. Most hemangiomas in infants resolve on their own without treatment. However, if they cause functional problems or cosmetic concerns, treatments such as laser therapy, medications, or surgery may be considered. In adults, hemangiomas in the liver are typically asymptomatic and discovered incidentally during imaging studies. Management depends on the size, location, and potential impact on health.
