Dr. Masoud Mardani Dashti is a highly regarded specialist in infectious and tropical diseases, known for his expertise in treating infections in immunocompromised patients. Born in 1956 in Masjid Sulaiman, Dr. Mardani Dashti has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of infectious diseases, with over 110 research articles published in esteemed national and international journals. He has also shared his expertise at more than 240 prestigious conferences worldwide, reflecting his dedication to advancing medical knowledge in infectious diseases.

Dr. Mardani graduated in general medicine from Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in Ahvaz, securing first place in 1981. He pursued his specialization in infectious diseases and tropical medicine at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, achieving first place nationally. His commitment to specialized care for immunocompromised and cancer patients led him to obtain an infectious disease fellowship in immunocompromised patients from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2000.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mardani has held esteemed positions, including as a professor at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and as the head of the university’s Faculty of Medicine from 2002 to 2005. He spearheaded critical reforms in medical education and successfully relocated the faculty to a more advanced campus. Recognized internationally, he was awarded fellowships from both the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (FESCMID) and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (FIDSA).

Dr. Mardani’s contributions include setting up infectious disease fellowships in immunocompromised care and hospital infection control. He also serves as the scientific editor of Archives of Clinical Infectious Disease (ArchCID), indexed in Scopus and ISI, underscoring his impact in academia. His work spans a range of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, influenza, HIV, Ebola, hepatitis, and brucellosis, marking him as a pillar of excellence and innovation in infectious disease medicine.
