Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI)

An infertility fellowship, formally known as a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) fellowship, is an advanced training program for physicians specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. This fellowship focuses on diagnosing and treating reproductive endocrine disorders and infertility issues. Typically spanning three years, the program combines comprehensive clinical practice with rigorous research components.

During the fellowship, physicians gain expertise in managing complex reproductive endocrine conditions and infertility treatments. They receive extensive training in reproductive surgeries, including operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, and become proficient in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). Fellows also engage in research, contributing to advancements in reproductive medicine.

Completion of an REI fellowship prepares physicians for board certification in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, enabling them to pursue careers in academic medicine, clinical practice, or research. This specialized training equips them to address a wide range of reproductive health issues, providing comprehensive care to individuals and couples facing fertility challenges.
